The rain pitter-pattered on the cold, wet ground, the clouds loomed over the grounds. The sun was nowhere to be found and the sycamore trees swayed in the light wind. You could just hear the faint sound of Roxy gently strumming her guitar to the beat of the rain and the noises in the trees. She smiled widely, with her eyes closed and her legs tucked in under her guitar. She sang quietly and faintly under the sound of the storm and tapped her Converse on the wet grass. The tree above her sort of wrapped around her, like it was made to protect her from the cold. Her voice rang through the courtyard and sounded throughout the trees, like her song belonged there. As she went through her song, unaware of everything, she grew louder and started belting the notes. A deep growl of thunder echoed all over the grounds, but she kept playing. When she finally strummed the last chords of her song, her eyes darted and she quickly got to her feet."Well thats just ****ing lovely..."She grabbed her guitar and grabbed her songbook. As she ran through the puddles with her book over her head, the bell on the clock tower and the thunder sounded on unison. She looked up, disapointed and continued running down the path. It wasnt just the rain that pissed her off so much, it was just the fact that it interrupted her little session she had everyday in the courtyard. It was her favorite part of her day. Now she had to go back to her room and listen to her roomate complain that the rain made her hair go frizzy. Sometimes, she felt like she was the only generally intelligent 15 year old in the whole school. Maybe that was why she had no friends? She just couldnt find anyone that she could actually have a decent conversation with. Her sneakers clicked agaisnt the pavement while she jogged, water drizzling down her face. She kept running when she clumsily plowed into someone that was going the opposite way. "Oh, for Merlin's sake! Ugh, great, now Im completely soaked! Hey are you okay?"

] Now, where could she finally get some peace and quiet? Her dorm was noisy, too noisy, and she needed to think out her master plan of pure destruction in peace, with no distractions in case of faulty, un-thoughtout plans. And then a spark of brilliance shot through her. It was raining outside, was it not? No one would be outside, not in this weather. She silently thanked London for it's poor weather conditions that had made the city infamous. Or rather, the country if one wanted to get technical. Yes, England had rain nearly all the time, and Hogwarts was definitely no exception. But her brilliant idea would lead her to the clock tower courtyard, the place where, well, not quite so many people liked to go to during rainy days. But she would be warm and dry, well maybe a bit damp from getting there, with a simple shielding charm that deflected the rain from hitting her. Then the peace and quiet, and not to mention the no distraction she was guaranteed to have, would be her's, all her's. She'll admit, she was a bit greedy, but it was almost essential that she get these plans right, and fool proof. Ryan may be shorter and look innocent compared to her Slytherin reputation, but she was sinister enough to be devious with her pranks. And that was why Lilly needed her personal, private place to think and begin the war that would be legendary. And hopefully she wouldn't be caught in the act, since her record was already badly damaged by the times she had been a bit too careless with herself. With her pranks. Trying to outwit the elder master. This year was her last chance, despite the fact that Lilly herself was only a fifth year, her elder was leaving for good, being a seventh year and all. Tough luck, it seemed. They were both going to be going through some big testing periods that Lilly was sure to be preoccupied with. O.W.Ls and N.E.W.Ts. Not that she needed them, Lilly was planning to skip off the dark side (where they have cookies!), and hope that she wasn't going to kill any of her family. Times at Hogwarts was making it difficult to hide which side she was joining, all students separating into different groups and sides. She should be light, her whole family was, their legacy was for the Potters, forever and always, but not her. Who says that her family could rule her life?
She was almost there, and by now she was darting for the safety of a ledge or someplace to sit where she could think and not be distracted and the rain wouldn't pelt on her so. Her uniform was already damp, and she disliked it so. "Fuck." She had anticipating the rain not to be quite so hard. The charm would have to be stronger, and she wasn't quite good at that charm at the level. Maybe she should resign her head in surrender, but she was a Wood! Woods do not surrender. She may not be on their side, but, she was a Wood and the ties of family she could not quite escape. And then, BAM! She ran into someone. The insolent little brat... it would pay. He, or she, would pay to hell. She drew out her wand, and was just about to murmur a spell when she realized she knew the person. Well, not know know, but she knew her name. It was common knowledge, she was a classmate and a housemate. Roxanne Scarlet Starr. With a guitar. Just lovely. She was not in the mood to deal with some girl with a guitar, probably thinking she was higher than everyone else because of it. Besides... a guitar is a muggle instrument. A Muggle's toy. Being soaked to the bone was not helping with her mood, either.

It may be really obvious, but this was one hell of a situation. All she wanted was to not hear the bitter, whiny voice of her roomate for the 3 hours and what does she have? She had a soaked guitar, school bag, and pissed off fellow Slytherin. Not only was she about to cast a spell on her, but she didnt seem to put her wand down quite yet. The only was this could be worse was if a Gryffindor was there instead. Ofcourse, they werent really much of a threat to Roxy, seeing as how she usually outsmarted them. The only thing they do is annoy the **** out of her. But thats okay. She never had to see them any part of her day, so, problem solved. So there she was, sitting on the cold, wet ground looking up at this girl, holding a wand to head, ready to cast a spell if she needed to. Knowing Roxy, she would saying something smart, regret it right after she said it, and then have to deal with the painful consequences. It really was a vicious cycle. She came back to reality and looked around at her stuff scattered all over the ground. Roxy slowly stood up, the girl's wand pointed at her right in between the eyes. She was thoroughly confused at this point and had no idea that running in the rain and accidently running into someone would make them so defensive...and mad.. The rain was falling so heavily, she was drenched from head to toe and could barely tell it was Lilian Wood about to cast a spell on her. Roxy didnt really know Lilly that well, but knew enough not to screw with her. She wasnt really in the mood to deal with it, plus, she forgot her wand in room after her classes. Roxy slung her guitar bag over her shoulder and shivered, rain dripping off her face."Ummm...Hi Lilly. Sorry about that...I shouldve watched where I was going." Roxy bit her lip, embarassed as she stared up at the sky. The rain still clicked against the concrete to a beat and the thunder rumbled in the distance again. She wasnt really sure if it was a good idea, but she was about to suggest to walk back to the castle, which would be logical. "Do you wanna walk back now?"

Damn. The stony silence, the sole lack of a human voice in the plitter platter of the rain, was deafening Lilly to the point of insanity. Not literally, of course, though maybe the roaring rain may be of help. Either way, Lilly didn't like this. She didn't like not speaking. But her attacker, and soon to be victim, had said something she had not quite caught. She didn't want to open her mouth to ask what she had said, but it was probably something unimportant to this matter. Nothing was of importance until this, this cretin was dealt with. Well, maybe not quite dealt with at this moment, but revenge would ensue sometime. This girl, Roxanne was her name, shortened to Roxy, was going to be going through hell one way or another, but how was she going to pull it off? Her signature, befriend and then back stab, finding out something incriminating, scandalous even. Leave her somewhere to bleed out until numbness greeted her in sorrow in a mental sort of sense, since physically she was not getting her hands dirty for the likes of her. But what were the likes of her, exactly. She didn't seem to be a very good Slytherin, after all, she looked like she was quaking in fear, though she could be shivering from the rain which was pouring down extremely hard now. Neither girl moved, at least, not in an escape to the safety of a warm roof or something like that. Stubbornness with Lilly's sole reason, but what was this girls? Surely she could not be as stubborn as Lilian. Was it from fear, then? Or sheer stupidity? There really was no way of knowing unless she broke this silence. Which Lilly promptly was not going to do. This girl was going to break, she could just see it in her eyes. The combinations of intimidation and the silence that would too be a bit awkward would drive her to it, Lilly knew. Or at least made an extremely educated guess about, an estimation. But, she knew it would turn out to be true, one way or another. Perhaps maybe it would be better than true, something that bid her good fortune would pop up. Maybe not, she could not be lucky too much these days, especially with everything that had happened the past few years. Last year, especially. The takeover of Hogwarts, which students scarcely mention now, had been quite a year, and it had become harder and harder for Lilly to mask her affiliation and fascination towards the Dark Arts, but somehow she managed until the forces had left, been dispelled from Hogwarts. During the time, however, groups of students, mostly the Gryffindors, had banded together to make mischief. But now that they were gone, things changed for what they thought was for the better. The new headmaster was okay, after all he had been the Slytherin Head of House. Nothing bad could happen to her or her house. But most of the other houses were dismayed by the news. Boo hoo for them.
But at the subject of this girl. She could not afford to get sidetracked from her thoughts like she had. Lilly, you fool! Stop playing around and get your head straight! You have to think of a way to make this girl pay for the insufferable thing she did! Lilly had a short fuse, and these days it was every little thing that light it, and it was extremely hard to put out. Lucky for Roxy, she got the chance to run into her. And now, well, let us hope that Lilly doesn't have something too slimy up her sleeve. Nothing medieval. Nothing like skinning her alive and boiling her in scalding hot water. Oops. Nope, Lilly usually had ideas like these, but she never had to enact them, after all, the screams, those were the things she could not stand. The screams. They tore at her heart, revealing the innocent child that still lurked behind her facade she put up. Well, it wasn't really a facade, it was a reflection of her true self, but she wasn't all darkness and cruelness. The screams, every single one of them was like fingernails scraping her heart, making it ache. That was the one thing she could not shield from. She wasn't necessarily afraid of them, or hated them, but they did have an effect on her. Maybe if she did want her victims to be dead, then she would hire ninja assassins to do the deed. But, no. She just wanted them to go through unspeakable amounts of agony, and know that because they messed with Lilian Ross Wood in the slightest way that this was what happened. Sheer horror.
All this time, Lilian had trained her wand in a deadly position. Well, not really a deadly position. It was aimed right between her eyes, Roxy's, locked in that position. She had made no attempt to remove it, not even the slightest movement that suggested she was to remove it from the position. It was incredibly cliche, to aim it there, and if she wanted to cast it spell she could have aimed it to her center and it would still strike as well, maybe even better, as it would have if she aimed her wand between her eyes. But it was impulsive, really, a reflex. Moving it would mean she didn't mean for it to be there, and besides, it seemed as though it scared Roxy, in which it had served its purpose. Through the rain, Lilly could not get a clear picture, the charm she had casted once upon herself to shippon rain off of her face was starting to wear off and her vision becoming a tab bit more blurry by the minute. But she could still see a little bit, enough to recognize the girl and see the general appearance of her. Now she could see that she could have been a bit more smart and gotten some sort of protection on her legs, since the skirt was not particularly good for this rain weather. But all the more to be angry about. Her cardigan held some sort of warmth on her arms, but not much seeing as the fabric was thin and soaked. Great, just great.
She talked. Roxy talked. Lilly knew she was going to break. Lilly couldn't resist a quick retort. "Yes, you could've. Can't you cast a good shielding charm to at least get the rain off your face and watch where you're going? Didn't think so." She did say sorry. A weakness. Slytherins don't show weakness. What a pathetic excuse of a Slytherin she was. Where was the pride and ambition, the strong and never showing weakness attitude? Totally lacking on her. Then she looked up at the sky. Two things were very wrong with that. Looking up to the sky ensures rain falling into your eyes, and that would hurt like hell, seeing the rate that the rain was falling in at the moment. And not looking into Lilly's eye. A sign of disrespect and dishonesty. And of fear. That was one good thing.
"What are we going to do with the likes of you. You are in Slytherin right? But you are lacking the characteristics. Standing up for yourself. You lack that. Looking into your opponent's eye. You lack that as well. Would you like me to name more?" Perhaps not. "And I have to deal with what to do with our little... collision. You better watch out. I mean it." And Roxy's attempt at redemption was horrible. "And what makes you think I would walk to the castle with the likes of you?"

The rain was relentless. It was mind-numbing and screwing with her thoughts. The only thing that could possibly be worse was...well nothing. She stood, with narrowed eyes and her death glare, shivering in the cold. She was so not looking forward to what was going to happen next and most certainly not happy about the future bleeding that would most definatley involved. She wished the girl would just cast a spell on her to get her little revenge already, but she seemed to wait just to piss Roxy off. Roxy clenched her fist and let out a long sigh of impatience. She had no idea saying sorry would make someone so angry. Yes, she had a tendency to be very sarcastic, but her tone was completely sincere. Yes, she also wasnt very sincere alot of the time, but she didnt feel like dealing with this. Truth be told, she just said sorry because if not, they would flip out, which happened anyway, so she wasted a rare apology over nothing. The second she saw who it was, she prepared for the yelling, or magic, to begin. Not only was this girl mean, but she was absolutley ruthless. Even though Roxy was high up there on the meanness, this one was quite a piece of work. She played the girls insults in her head over and over, but they just didnt really click in her mind. In her mind, she figured she would get up, help her up, say sorry, and then theyd get over it. She never even dreamed of such an immature conversation between two young ladies. The thing that made her think was when this girl said she was a horrid Slytherin, bottom line. She figured this girl really couldnt pick out anything besides that, which was sad. If she was going to insult her, why couldnt she come with anything...good? As much as Roxy didnt care, she wanted to stick arounf for a little bit longer, snickering at pretty much every other word that slithered out of this girls mouth. This was pure comedy, and she was loving every second. But eventually, she had to say a comeback."Okay, I came out here to play guitar 3 hours ago to get away from my annoying roommate. But I guess I ran into a bigger bitch. I was trying to be polite. I mean, why would I be as rude as youre being to fellow housemate? It makes no sense. Stop acting like youre so much better than everyone else and get the hell over yourself." The words just spilled out of her mouth, flowing without stopping. She had tried putting her voice over the rain, which all and all failed. The thing was it was so loud it was unbearable. She was now just sick of everything. Not only was she freezing, but she was getting a headache from this girls shrill little voice. It was ear-splitting and was higher than a 10-year-olds. Roxy threw her bag back over her shoulder and briskly started to walk back, when she decided to say good-bye to her newly found little friend. "Now, if you dont mind, Ive had enough of your childish grudge and stuck up face. Buh-bye."She kept her head held high and bumped shoulders with her as she plainly walked back.

Personally, Lilly wasn't looking for a fight when she went on her merry way, and nearly made it too, towards the clock tower courtyard. Usually she really wouldn't have bothered, a silencing charm would have worked quite fine, and she wouldn't hear a thing, the noise not a problem anymore. But no, she needed real aloneness, quietness, something that would be real and solid. Maybe she should have stayed inside more, it didn't look that Roxy was doing anything. And to tell the truth, Lilly was counting on some negative reaction, some really emotionally charged words. Then she'd have a reason to retaliate. After all, senseless violence wasn't Lilly's thing, everything needed a reason, no matter how small the said reason was. Her lips curled up into a smirk. Though her reasons were quite childish, immature even, there were many nastier, meaner, insults she could have said, but refrained just so that her ego wouldn't be torn into little pieces. At least, not completely into little pieces. After all, Lilly wasn't quite the heartless bitch her reputation had so claimed her to be. At times, she'll admit, she enjoyed playing the part, though acting, not her forte. It wasn't like she could convince everyone, though she hoped she was doing a good job to the Hogwarts population.
It was time for the action to start.
But this girl, she was damn well pissing Lilian off for not making the first move. Some sort of outburst was expected, but she was taking her own damn time. But then the music starting playing, and she couldn't help but smile, an ever present smirk on her face. Perfect. Her muggle instrument was going to be torn to pieces or perhaps burned because to tell the truth, it looked flammable. It was petty, yes, but it seemed this girl was rather partial to this useless muggle toy. No, torn to a million pieces. The rain was going to prevent a fire from starting, and even though a fire would be rather enjoyable for her, she's just have to make do with some soggy rotting bits of wood. That was fine for her, as long as Ms. Starr here suffered.
Stuck up face and childish grudge? What a pathetic little liar. Her face wasn't "stuck up", so to speak, only if you meant in the form that Ms. Starr's face here was stuck up, pissed off and scrunched, though Lilly though her face was extremely relaxed and a gleeful, if not nearly bursting with joy, expression present. And grudge. Childish it may be, but it was no grudge. After all they had no been standing in the rain for more than approximately five minutes and Lilly had made the turn of events rather unpleasant, but a grudge? A grudge was an argument one held for more than necessary, say like a month for something petty. But really, Lilly would think someone would wait at least an hour out of courtesy before calling someone out for holding a grudge. And then, oh and then, she had the fucking nerve to bump her shoulder. Lilly snapped. She whispered one, two, no three obscenities and shot the body binding curse at her, dozens of times, before she was sure she was there, body rigid, stuff fallen to the ground getting soaked in the rain.
"MY game. MY rules. You got that? No, I don't think you do. Let me explain it in small words, slowly, so you will understand." Lilly enunciated her words, articulated them slowly into little syllables. "I will make you regret every small thing you have done to piss me off, and more. Do you get that? Don't piss me off, don't piss my friends off, don't steal my boys, and don't you dare think you're better than me, because I will make you regret your sorry ass was even born." WORDS?! who knows? The rain continued, but dimmed down while it kissed Roxys cheeks. Even though it was going down, it still roared and cackled on the sidewalk, and made Roxy regret saying sorry. Oh, how the rain was relentless. It really gave no mercy to them at all. You really gotta love Britain. But Roxy figured this was sort of her fault. Yes, people warned her the weather was really crappy today, but she wanted to play guitar, so thats exactly what she did. Did she want to run into trouble? No. Did she pray to be critisized and hated 2 seconds after they actually met? No. But look where she is now. Roxys nose was crinkled in digust, but then relaxed into a bitchy little smirk. She just figured, if this girl wanted to fight fire with huge, enormous flames, well, that was her problem. The only thing Roxy cared about at the moment was if this girl actually was as important and talented as she made herself seem. This girl, with her fake scraggly blonde hair and fake spray tan disgusted Roxy, but hell, whatever. No skin off her nose. This girl was so unbelievably rude, it was sickening. She was so tired of all her classmates thinking they were so much better than her. Including her. Obviously, this chick didnt know what she was up against. Roxy was ready to fight, even if Lily didnt want to. She was up against a girl that probably thought pulling hair and measly slaps was a way of fighting. Roxy planted her feet to the ground, a smile still glued to her face, and crossed her arms. She stood completely still, without making twitch. "Listen hon, I dont give a damn what your rules are. I can do what I want, when I want. Heres some advice: if you dont want to get punched in the face, shut up. Oh and by the way, your spray tans running."Roxy stood still, and continued her smiling. She was so relieved she wasnt up agaisnt a true threat, and had complete confidence in herself. This was going to be easy.

That was utterly disgraceful. Had she not hit Roxy? Usually it would be hard for a victim's mouth to operate, but no, this girl's mouth was rocketing. Getting punched was not in her agenda, not today. And this girl definitely didn't scare her in a body bind curse. But the question was, was she in a body bind curse? Her marksmanship must really be off, but... it was weird. If her marksmanship was off, one time would be understandable, but all twelve? It was a bit too weird. Too good to be true. And she had great aim as well. She didn't see a wand on her person, but then again perhaps Roxy had one concealed and took one out to block those spells... but really? Really? It seemed almost unreal. But then again, people could do the unbelievable if they set their minds to it. Lilian wasn't one to believe in this sort of mumbo jumbo, but then again, she had changed her mind on a lot of things in a matter of the last year, with the take over and chosing sides. Speaking of which, she was particularly glad she had taken a long time to chose sides, and it had been utterly discreet. Hopefully word hadn't gotten out to her family, it would be utterly devastating for them to learn she had taken sides in a rather shady and dark group. It hadn't lasted long and she didn't even remember who was in it, but the only thing she cared about if that they didn't know who she was, and if they did, they kept their mouth shut to her family.
She was a little offended.
No, no, she was a lot offended.
She wasn't wearing any spray tan. And she used sunblock at time, though it wasn't particularly strong, in all actuality, she usually didn't go with sunblock during school. But how on earth would her "spray tan" be dripping if she didn't have one? Heavens, this girl was mentally insane. Was she seeing things? Perhaps she needed a doctor. "Are you alright? You seeing things? Because frankly, I don't use spray tan. In fact, I don't attempt to make my skin any darker than it usually it. Though I may say, I guess my skin is a bit darker than last year." Okay, no mean tone in there at all. That was different, even for her. "You break the rules, you get punished. And trust me, it's not fun! Anyways, punch me and I'll break all your fingers." And she would. Slowly. One by one, bending them back slowly, until the satisfying crack came loud and clear to her ears. WORDS?! who knows? The rain was gone and the sun peeked out from the dark clouds, like it was making sure it was safe to come out. There was only the few drops of rain that straggled behind from the other. The rain gutters were filled to the top, absolutely overflowed. The smell of rain still lingered, but it turned into that disgusting, sticky, humid mess after a storm always hit. It did no justice for Roxy's hair and sure as hell not her mood. Roxy still had a faint hint of her bitch smirk on her face. She hadnt alot to complain about right then because of the flames of the intense fight starting to go out, thank goodness. She was sort of bored with it and was just so tired of all the fighting and comebacks, why couldnt everyone just get over it? Why couldnt they all just break through the crap and skip to the good stuff? "Uhm...ok? Whatever. Im just so bored with this. Now if you dont mind, Im gonna have a smoke. If you want to come back down to Earth and join me, than whatever." She pulled a pack from her shoe and waved it in her face and slowly backed up. She had a lighter in her back pocket and slipped it out. She gently slid it in her mouth and closed her eyes, happily. After she lit it, it was like heaven, literally. The smell and taste of sweet tobacco filled her senses and left her so satisified. There was an ache in the back of her mouth, the kind she got when she needed a smoke. It had been at least a week since she took even a drag, and it was absolutely killing her. The relief restored her completely. She glanced back at Lily and shrugged. She didnt really care if she would join her. It was whatever.
