With a loose grin Alice Wood stepped out of the north building. She was glad it was a Saturday she was thankful for the break, school had been so hectic recently Alice was happy to have a moment to herself. The first years that thought they were something big had been a real handful so far, it had taken her giving the at least two detentions each for them to realise she meant business. But saying that she didn’t want to come across like a prude hell that was the last thing she wanted. She just wanted to do the job properly, she didn’t want to mess up and look the idiot in front of everyone. She bit her lip, if she showed her authority would her friends think she’d changed? She sighed as a tiny frown darkened features creasing her brow. Maybe she wasn’t cut out for the job.
She took out a small book she’d stamped out of the library, she was surprised that Madame Prince had let he take one of her precious volumes out; the witch was normally really uptight about it. But Alice guessed that the fact she was a ‘sensible’ seventh year meant she could be trusted with the pressure book. It was a fiction book, children’s fiction to be precise one of her favourites too. The tales of Beedle the bard was a collection of stories Alice simply adored. Her mother would read them to her every night before bedtime and Alice loved it. Her favourite story was definitely ‘babitty rabitty and her cackling stump’, Alice thought it was simply brilliant how the witch managed to outsmart the cruel king and the imposter. She smiled as her eyes indulged gluttonously; she loved reading it was probably her favourite pastime. That and of course star gazing. It was another thing Alice loved, she knew most of the constellations though the problem was finding them. The sky was normally so vast and wide it was hard to locate a few even on clear nights.
Her thoughts returned to the story as the short tale reached its climax; she smiled and chuckled lightly at the humour. She did love this story.

Ahhh, morning detentions. Ryan's favorite. Even though she had to get up hours earlier than normal (she usually woke up at 3 on Saturdays) the teachers were usually so tired they let her go a half hour earlier. No one could tell but her friends that she had gotten out early from her usual smirk. Today she was extra happy because she had only been in there ten minutes when the teacher fell asleep so of course she left. No need to stay where nobody would notice you. Well of course Ry wasn't that conceited. She just had better things to do than sit in a classroom with a sleeping teacher. She couldn't go back to sleep now that she had been up and walking. So she just charmed her paper to write the rest and when it finished (2 minutes - a new record) she left. Turning the paper in of course.
She had stopped by the Gryffindor common room to turn in her things and then ventured outside, not wanting to waste the day indoors. She would set up her latest prank in a few hours. Ryan quickly lost all her thoughts by trying to type rope walk through the grass, obviously just placing her feet in front of one another instead of side by side. When she had gone 2oo steps (at least that's what she thought she had done. She had of course skipped a few numbers) she looked up and spotted a familiar face buried in a book. She smirked even wider and ran towards the figure sitting next to them. She looked over their shoulder and at the book. "My father used to read those to me and Lyon when we were little." She said the words in a fake American accent, a place she'd always admired. Of course her accent was horrible and Alice would probably know it was her, but Ryan didn't care.
"I was just in the common room and there was a little girl crying about having a detention." Ryan laughed in her head knowing this might frighten her friend. "Of course I asked her who she got the detention from and she said, 'a girl with a badge and pretty hair.' Merlin, I love first years." For effect and dramatics of course, Ryan leaned forward on her elbows.
Hope you don't mind my posting but I was a bit bored.

Okay. For starters, Lilian had no idea why she was wearing her uniform on a day without classes. Maybe it was for lack of a reason not to. Or maybe for the decency. Maybe she wanted to get her point across that she was a Slytherin. So many little first years had asked what her name was, and when she had answered they had always the same questions : what house are you in? You could just see the disappointment in those kids' eyes when she answered the all in famous word; Slytherin. They had stopped bothering her after that. Lilian loved to see them so downhearted and such, but she still found it extremely annoying, and thus was why she was seething mad at the moment. Oh. Maybe that was another reason for wearing her uniform. So that people wouldn't ask her so many damn questions. So far, it wasn't working. Her tie wasn't enough, it seemed. One day, oh just one day, if this didn't cease Lilian was going to freakin' crucio one of them into oblivion. But not quite. She was not in the mood for being the first Wood in the history of Woods to be exspelled frm Hogwarts. She had some common sense. But. She was still red hot angry. Anyone who happened to encounter her on her stroll through the castle could see that. But luckily no one had, and hopefully no one was going to be at her destination. The Northern Courtyard. Anyone who was there was going to have hell to pay. Not that she was always this mean. Well, maybe she was.
Out of the corner of her eye she could just see people ducking out of the way. Good for them. Good for them indeed. And she reached her destination. And there were two others there, girls, blonde. As she got closer, without any sort of notion to conceal herself, she found that she herself recognized both of them. Alice and Ryan. Her sister and her sister's BFF. Or so it always seemed. They still had hell to pay. But she put on a mask, trying to be friendly despite the fact that they knew her and they knew her deeds. A little pretending couldn't possibly hurt at the moment. As she was approaching, she could hear them talk. Or at least one of them talk. The all too fmailiar voice of Ry. "Merlin, I love first years." She raised her eyebrows. She plopped next to her sister. Not plopped. Plopped wasn't the right word. It was more of a sat down next to sister in an over exaggerated and exasperated way. Very, very dramatic. But, she was going to make a point, and even though the point was not clear to her and she was probably not even going to say it, sitting down did not even cut it. Not even if it were a tad bit too, what was the word, ah, yes, dramatic. Had she mentioned it was dramatic. She could just not express how much it was, though. But, now to answer Ry. Even if she didn't technically address a question, there was still something she needed to say. So, Lilian tried her best to keep a straight face and a normal tone and expression.
"Bloody hell. How can you stand it? First years keep asking me what my name is and what house I'm in. For once I'm angry at Dad for giving me his name. Not that he can help it, of course." There, that had better be good. For the first time since entering the courtyard she noticed her sister had a book. Call her unobservative or something, but it wasn't lie Lilly bothered to notice her sister if she could help it. Ah, always the bookworm. And always the child, from Lilian's speculation. The Tales of Beetle and the Bard? Really now, Alice? Lilian knew her sister was her mother's child, but really? At Hogwarts?
"Really, now, Alice? I thought you had enough bedtimes stories to keep you during the night, but now? Can't get enough of mum's voice and stories you had to have it?" She was definitely still horridly angry.

“It’s pretty amazing,” said Alice not looking up from the book as she recognised the American toned voice. Ryan was distinguishable threw many of the accents she put on, or maybe Alice only found that due to the fact she’d known Ryan since her first year at Hogwarts. Who knew? She smiled as she put down the book keeping the page with a cross stitch book mark she’d made over the summer. “So we’re American today?” asked Alice with a cheerful grin as she thumbed her fingers through the long blades of grass. “It’s seems like a nice place.” Said Alice thoughtfully knowing how much her best friend admired it. “I guess it’d be fun to that thing muggle’s do, ah- what’s it called.” She pondered for a moment “Oh, road tripping.” Alice had a list of places she wished to visit after Hogwarts, of course she knew she’d have to start saving up as soon as she left Hogwarts to even get to half of them. “You know, I quite like the idea of Nepal myself, I guess the cultures always interested me.” She said with a lithe smile. It was a well know fact Alice longed for adventure, she was forever skipping in and out of the many secret passageways of the castle. “Well that first year really shouldn’t have tried to steal another kid’s homework.” She laughed. “I really hope they don’t think I was too hard on her though, I’m not trying to be a tyrant.” She said softly. She grinned as Ryan plopped down dramatically; twisting another blade of grass around her finger she pulled it out of the earth destructively. The sound of footsteps alerted Alice to another presence she turned around to see her younger sister Lily making her way across the courtyard. Although she and Lillian didn’t always see eye to eye she loved her. She was her little sister so she couldn’t do anything but love her. She shook her head as Lil spoke about the first years.
“You get used to it Lil,” she said sympathetically “I think it comes as a bigger shock when I say I don’t like Quidditch. I guess they expect us all to be big Quidditch nuts.”
Her frown disappeared as her younger sister chastised her over the small book in her hands. “Honestly Lil.”She said imitating her sister’s tone “Maybe I just like the book, I do like reading unlike some people.” She said simply. “Anyway,” she began her tone changing to that of curiosity “What are you doing out here, not with your friends today?”
ooc- no worries of course you can still join the thread : P

Ryan smiled. Of course America was amazing, it was collided with different cultures. But, RY obviously loved England better or she would've made dad leave long ago. Well probably not but she would've complained about the weather a lot more. Ryan hated snow. Every time she woke up in winter and there was snow on the ground she would hit her head against the window and kick her trunk which just resulted in her going to the hospital wing to ease the pain. One time she broke the window she hit her head on it too hard. Boy, had everyone in the room been mad at her. Though they soon forgot about it as someone fixed it. Ryan didn't know or had forgotten who but it was probably Allie. Ahh, lovely, lovely Allie. Wait....Al was talking. Dang it! thought Ryan. Her thoughts nearly always got away from her.
"Yes roadtripping would be fun....except for the fact that we could just fly our brooms ah.....nevermind." That was one of the differences between the two friends. Ryan loved Quidditch and played on the team. Allie hated Quidditch. Change the subject.... Ryan scolded herself. "Whoops. I might have encouraged a SMALL group of first years to uh....do that exact thing and they wouldn't get into trouble." Allie was going to kill her. But she would've found out anyway. Word of Ryan's 'deeds' spread fast sometimes. "I guess it kinda spread." Ryan glanced around Allie to Lily. Then she quickly looked back to the ground as words spread the her mouth before they could form in her brain. Impulsive. That was something she always had been and it had gotten her into a fair bit of trouble.
"Merlin and Circe Lily it's called sarcasm. I despise first years at times...everyone does." That wasn't too mean...good. Sometimes when Ry was impulsive she was really mean and surprisingly it happened a lot in the presence of more than one person. Just her luck. Ryan thought about giving the sisters the talk about how each person was different and they were each great in their own ways but she didn't really feel like it. Plus she didn't exactly know that talk. "Yes Lils where are your dearest friends?" American accent again! At this rate she was going to be the best at American accents at Hogwarts. Unless an American transfer came....did Hogwarts allow transfers. She would have to make that a topic to bring up in class to annoy the teacher. She needed an assistant to take these great (brilliant) ideas down on paper for her.

My, oh, my. No, this just will not do! Small fact about Lilian, don't try to sympathsize with her if she didn't need some sympathetic words to cher her up. And especially when she was angry. The last thing she wanted was a pity party. But somehow her sister always knew the right words to make her feel better. Yet, this time she failed. And it mad Lilly the upmost angry. Okay, keep calm Lily. This is you sister and her best friend. There is no jinxing them to oblivion like those first years. She's related to you. No hurting family. Not today, not until they graduate and get out of my hair. The facts were these. Lilian had always been compared to her sisters, who always, unfortunately, got fairly good gradds. That came from Allie's very own twin, bright and cheery and over enthuiastic about everything. And definitely Allie, the one who always managed to have a book under her nose and get away with it, even when the Professors gave out lectures. And, well, one of the only sane sisters in the family, in the house of the witty and usefully dark Ravenclaws was her sister. And that was for the one with high grades. And being the youngest of them all, Lilian either had to be smart and bright (that was hard, she was always getting looks from the Professors as if she wanted something, and they were stereotyping her. But then again it was true that she usally wanted something in return), or face hell for all eternity. So she got fairly good grades (E's very the average unless there was a particularly easy lesson in which she would get an O or particularly hard and nasty evil lessons that she would sometimes range from an A to a P). But everytime she got bored and whipped out a book to read there was some nasty looks and she silently slipped the book where no one could see it.
But enough reminescing. She was getting sick of it, quickly and disasterously. No need for them so see her go into a rage and throw things around. She wasn't one to give away too much too fast. But, her sister needs an explanation. !"Get used to it? My dear sister, I have spent five years at this school and have not gotten used to it. One day you might need to give me a detention for my fantasies to become a reality with those little brats. Ah, nevermind. You won't catch me." That ought to do. Might get Allie a bit worried. She was speaking the truth, after all, one day, she might have the mind to do a little jinx, but not today, and definitely not near Allie. She hadn't forgotten Ryan either. "We can't seem but forget we were once first years like them. Oh, did you guys really hate my year that much, what, four, five, years ago?"
"I know you've must've memorized all of them. Otherwise I must be going crazy. Allie, the bookworm, fact cruncher, can't memorize a few of her favorite stories." Llilian did too Read! It was one of her favorite hobbies. Reading was a guilty pleasure for herself. But it didn't seem like any of her family seemed to care all that much, or even notice. Might as well pretend that she wasn't a complete bookworm. It worked out so much better for her reputation, slightly ruined by the Wood legacy.
Christ, they were talking about her friends. Sure, Lilly had that feeling of lonliness again, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a quick screw. "If you really must know, I am going boy hunting. I just managed to run into you two lovely, lovely people on the way. My friends were not interesting, and personally I don't want them to steal away the man I want. And what about you two? Do tell me, since I am not dim and I know you two have met here not shortly before my arrival. Though, I guess it's obvious for you Allie, you were reading."
